With SureSmile, we capture 3-D images of your teeth using the unique handheld SureSmile OraScanner®, which functions like a tiny video camera. We use sophisticated 3-D treatment planning software to build a virtual model of your teeth. Dr. Feller then uses this information to plot individual tooth movements throughout the course of your SureSmile treatment. This “mapping” of tooth movement allows for a more efficient bracket and archwire system to be designed.

Once Dr. Feller completes your computerized treatment plan, it is sent to the SureSmile service center, where your customized archwires created, based on Dr. Feller’s prescription. SureSmile uses state-of-the-art robotic technology to fabricate your “shape-memory alloy” archwires based on the detailed requirements of your individual treatment plan. These “smart” wires, which permanently retain their custom bends, are made from the most effective materials used in orthodontics today. Your teeth are moved to the desired positions more directly, resulting in reduced treatment time.
